Blog Updates

Last Post of 2007

As most of you may have noticed, I'm in the process of changing the blog around a little bit. I've cut out a lot of stuff I had out here and added new WIP bars. These bars link back to Ravelry so if you don't have an account with them you wouldn't be able to view my notebook. I'm still in the process of working on the bars but they are presentable.

Let me know what you think of the blog. Is there anything that is bothersome? All suggestions will be welcomed.

I finished my moms fingerless mitts yesterday.

I used the Irish Wrist Warmers pattern and Knit Picks Andean Silk yarn. It took about 60g. I knit them on size US7 needles. The only mod was leaving off the ribbing at the top. I think it made the wrist warmer to snug at the top of the hand. I still need to wash and block them before sending them to my mom.

I also worked on my knee high socks but didn't bother with a pic since it's just a few extra inches on the leg. I have 10 or so more rows before starting the heel flap. I could probably finish these before Midnight to make them my final project of 2007.

Shoot, I almost forgot....I started Kaity's mittens the other day while we were heading down to Helena.

Mitten number 1 was started and finished on 29 Dec. I'm using the smallest size which is for 6" hand circumference. It fits Kaity's hand perfectly.

Mittens are a wonderful instant gratification knit. I'm using the Elegant and Easy Cable Mittens for the Family from the book 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders. I'm using Lambs Pride Worsted, color: Amethyst (M-62) and US4/3.5mm bamboo dpns. The only mod I've made was to use a left twist cable instead of a right twist cable for no other reason then personal preference. I like working right twist cables over left twists.

Have a safe and Happy New Year! See you all on in 2008!

Time for a Change

I decided that it was time for an update.  Though I know some of you may read my posts through bloglines, google reader, etc I thought it was time for a change.

I was getting a wee bit tired of all the pink.  I have no idea why I went with pink.  It's not my most favorite color.  I'm still not finished with the blog but more changes can wait for now.  For some reason the code went missing for several of my blog rings.  That's been fixed.  I'm thinking about taking out a few things too.   One of these days I'll upgrade so I can customize my theme anyway I want but for now this is good enough.

And since no post is complete without a photo here's a shot of my Forest Canopy Shawl.

The shawl and I had a few issues where I had to tink back a few rows....that was not fun.  I will not complain though because that's what I get for not putting in a lifeline.  This will probably be the last shot where I'll be able to spread it out.  Any other photos taken will be blob photos, though I may throw one in my posts from time to time...maybe, more then likely the next time you all will see this shawl is in the be before and after blocking shots....I don't think it's going to take long before I'm at that point.

New Blog Addition

Alright.  I've added Snap Shots to my blog.  This will pop up a small box whenever you hold your mouse over a link.  Drop me a comment and let me know what you think of it.

It's Done!

Yeah Baby!  Stick a fork in it, this blog is done!  Well I'm not done posting out here but after an afternoon of working with it, I think I have everything I want back on my new blog.
The links in the side bars don't open into new windows but that's not a biggie.  I may be able to figure that one out later.  I just don't feel like hunting down html code right now.  :~)
So far I like it.  It definately takes some getting us to when you swap over specially after using Blogger which is super user friendly.  I have to pay for this blog but I think it's going to be worth it.  Last night I tried out this one and Wordpress and decided on Typepad.  For me to get more functionality with Wordpress I would need to host it which is going to cost twice as much per month then what I'll pay for Typepad.   So far I'm liking it.
I'll still keep my blogger account for all my KAL's because that's what most go through.....it's free and super user friendly.  :~)   I'll be keeping my personal blog on this site!

So what does everyone think of the new blog?
